Photographer's Statement & Biography:
I am an amateur photographer with a passion for freezing time. It is my greatest joy to capture the beauty and vitality of life in a singular, static moment. Experiencing the splendor, and awesomeness, of the natural world is my way of connecting with The Great Spirit. Through my photography, I seek to communicate my own personal experiences with others about the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
I have been involved in photography since childhood. I experienced a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for photography after buying my first digital camera. Though it was not a professional camera, it did the trick. Shortly after, I obtained a slightly better camera and started to head out on what my partner affectionately describes as a “photo safari”. There were many forest preserves and farm country around my home in Illinois. I haunted and hunted these areas in search of wildlife and the elusive spirits of the forests.
Shortly after moving to Florida in 2010, my brother in California unexpectedly died. In that time of sorrow came a gift. I inherited his semi-professional digital camera. With this new camera, I have been able to increase the quality of my photos. I began to take pictures of my son’s high school marching band and the football games. This has helped me to learn and become a better photographer. With the camera always being in my hand, the result was an ever-growing library of photos.
For this reason, I have decided to build a personal gallery website to share with family and friends. Though I am not usually paid for my pictures, I hope to turn this serious hobby into a small business. I offer images for donations and email the .jpeg to the buyer. I specialize nature photography but I also love to take action shots of people at play.
I hope that you enjoy my website and photos. I hope to be adding more photos regularly, so I encourage you to stop by often.
I hope that you will enjoy the photos as much as I do taking them.
